LORD CAITANYA

Last incarnation of Krishna

Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Life and teaching. Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is Krishna Himself. He is like a teacher who, seeing the inexperience of a student, takes a pencil, writes and says: “Write like this: A, B, C.” However, this does not mean that the teacher himself teaches the primer.

A.Ch. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, The Teachings of Sri Chaitanya. Introduction"

Lord Sri Krsna is described in the Bhagavad-gita as the Absolute Personality of Godhead, and His final instruction in this great book of transcendental wisdom is that one should give up all kinds of religious activities and accept Him (Lord Sri Krsna) as the only object of worship. Despite the direct command of Lord Sri Krishna and the teachings of Bhagavad-gita, unfortunately, few people accepted His instructions. Therefore, in the present age He appeared as Lord Sri Krishna Caitanya to give people His sublime teachings and demonstrate them by His own example. One who is fortunate enough to feel the attraction of Lord Chaitanya will certainly achieve success in life and fulfill his destiny.

Predictions for the Appearance of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu
The Vedic scriptures predicted the advent and activities of Sri Chaitanya, declaring him to be an incarnation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krishna.

Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Why? Because He exactly matches the descriptions of the Supreme Being, the Lord. In other words, Krishna is Lord because He is
All-attractive.
“Brahma said: “I will tell you a secret!” On the bank of Jahnavi (Ganga) in Navadvipa, which is called Goloka-dhama, the great Govinda, transcendental to the three modes of material nature, in the two-armed form of Gaura, the greatest mystic, whose form is eternal, will manifest bhakti to the whole world.”

“This one Lord, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, whose transcendental body is golden in color, has incarnated in bodies of red, dark and white colors in previous centuries. In His original form as Sri Chaitanya, He is truly the life force, the personification of bhakti, God and the expert of bhakti."
“He chants the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, which consists of the names Hari, Krishna and Rama.”
“One who reveres Sri Chaitanya, worships Him and remembers Him is freed from all sins. He becomes purified, realizes the Absolute Truth and emerges from the power of suffering. And there is no other way to achieve such perfection."

“Light-skinned but dark inside (Krishna), I will take birth from the womb of Sacidevi. Accompanied by My associates, servants and weapons, I will play the role of an ordinary person."
Lord Caitanya instructed his disciples to write books on the science of Krishna, a task his followers continue to carry out to this day. It is because of the disciplic succession system that the philosophy taught by Lord Caitanya is today very extensive, precise and consistent. The cult of the philosophy of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is recognized as a living religion of our days.

With all the dignity and highest authority, this mission was continued in the twentieth century by Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami Maharaj and his outstanding disciple, one of the greatest philosophers and spiritual figures of our time - A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada - the founder acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
Lord Caitanya performed wonderful pastimes to prove that He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. His coming was predicted in the revealed scriptures. They state that the Lord, accompanied by His associates, will appear in this world as a devotee to establish yuga-dharma (the duty of every person in this age of Kali) - chanting the holy names of God. Lord Chaitanya left behind only eight verses - “Sikshashtaka”, in which He reveals the essence of His mission and instructions.

Glory to sri-krishna-sankirtana, which cleanses the heart of the dirt that has accumulated in it over many years, and extinguishes the fire of conditional existence and repeated births and deaths. This sankirtana movement brings the greatest blessing to humanity, for it emits a effulgence similar to the beneficent effulgence of the moon. It is the soul of all transcendental knowledge. It deepens the ocean of transcendental bliss and enables us to enjoy the nectar for which we always crave.

O my Lord, only Your holy name can bestow blessings on all living entities, and therefore You have hundreds and millions of names such as Krishna and Govinda. You have invested all Your transcendental energies in these transcendental names, and there are no strict rules for chanting these names. O my Lord, out of Your kindness You have given us the opportunity to easily attain You by chanting Your holy names, but I am so unfortunate that I do not feel any attraction for them.

The holy names of the Lord should be chanted with a humble attitude of mind, considering oneself lower than the straw lying on the street. One must become more patient than a tree, completely free oneself from the sense of false prestige and always be ready to show respect to others. Only in this state of mind can one chant the holy name of the Lord constantly.

O almighty Lord, I do not want to accumulate wealth, I do not need beautiful women or followers. I want only one thing - to serve You faithfully, life after life, without expecting anything in return.

O son of Nanda Maharaja (Krishna), I am Your eternal servant, but it so happened that I fell into the ocean of birth and death. I ask You to rescue me from this ocean of death and make me one of the dust particles at Your lotus feet.
